This weekend is the perfect opportunity to learn Vue.js

Did you every wanted to develop your own web app? Do you have some knowledge in HTML, CSS and Javascript? Then this weekend is the perfect opportunity to advance your skills and learn Vue.js. You probably thinking right now: Why is exactly this weekend the perfect opportunity to learn it? Before I answer this question, first some words to what Vue.js is and why to learn it at all.
Vue.js is a framework for developing the frontend of a webapps, so basically everything except communicating with the database and making hard calculations. It is based on HTML, CSS and Javascript. You are still using these languages, just in a more structured way, which in different ways makes the development just easier.
Vue.js is not without alternatives. Instead of Vue.js you could use the more known technologies Angular or React.js. They all have some pros and cons and they are well covered by other blogs. So which of them is the right one for your project? Just a month ago I faced the same question and I ended up with the answer: It doesn't matter. You can build your app successfully in all of them. They all have a sufficient community, so you can get help if you stuck. So why did I choose Vue.js? To be honest, I just looked at a single metric. I wanted to start the project as soon as possible, which means minimizing the time I need to spend learning a technology. Since Vue.js is said to be the easiest to learn of the three, I just picket that. It is that simple. And there is a really well made website called Vuemastery, that teaches you how to code in Vue.js. Their "Intro to Vue.js" is all you need to start coding simple apps and it is free.
Let's return to the original question: Why is exactly this weekend the perfect opportunity to learn Vue.js? Did you notice how I didn't mention that the other courses on Vuemastery are free. Well that is because they aren't. Expect This Weekend. So if you are a student like me or just someone with a small budget, than is weekend is our opportunity to master our Vue.js. My goal is to master every single course (all 16h) and hope you use this opportunity as much as possible for you.

How I refactored my code after the free weekend - DevDiary #0.5

Last weekend you could watch all the courses on Vuemastery for free. Actually they extended it to today, but I learned a lot already I want to implement what I learned in my current project as soon as possible. I could learn Nuxt.js today and make a Nuxt.js project tomorrow. Nuxt is like a framework for Vue, which is a framework itself. I am convinced of it's features, especially the best practice oriented structure and the possibility to make my app more search engine friendlier. I will definitely turn my App into a Nuxt.js App, but not right now. I have just bought the yearly membership at Vuemastery.com so I learn it whenever I like. My priority right now is to have a running minimum viable product as soon as possible and that collides with spending a few days learning Nuxt.js and figure out how to make and Nuxt App do what my Vue App does. Four step registration process and admin area - DevDiary #4

Last week I wrote that only some legal writing and the admin area are missing. I forget about one thing: The registration process. I decided it needs to be a four-step process, but I will talk with David about that again. Usually, I implement details how I see fit and then speak with David about it. I don't want to write for every single thing. That is what I did last week. There is now this menu at the bottom of every page. There are symbols for social networks (not linked, though and kofee doesn't have that many social networks) and links to legal texts. It still needs something like a "terms and conditions for usage", so that we are legally allowed to use their logos and images on our website. Legal stuff is such a complicated mess.
